Fareham Musical Society

Welcome to Fareham Musical Society's website.

FMS was founded in 1983 by Betty Richards, who had a dream that Fareham might one day have its own musical theatre company performing in the town at Ferneham Hall. That dream came true in 1986, when we performed our first show at the venue. Over the years, our shows have received many nominations and awards in the Daily Echo Curtain Call Awards. Indeed The King & I, staged at Ferneham Hall in September 2011 received no less than seven nominations, resulting in four winners including "Best Musical".

Recent FMS offerings include Singin' in the Rain (March 2012) which went down a storm (!) with the audiences; and the award-winning My Fair Lady in September 2012. In June 2012, FMS branched out into comedy, staging three episodes of the classic Fawlty Towers. This brave new venture paid off and the company received rave reviews from the local newspapers and, best of all, the audiences left wanting more: so much so that we were booked to repeat this performance at Groundlings Theatre in January 2013. Another three episodes will be coming to Ferneham Hall in June, so watch out for that! Our most recent production, Summer Holiday, was a joy to behold, with outstanding performances from the younger members of FMS, some of whom were taking their first principal roles. We are now looking forward to bringing The Mikado back to Fareham - and we hope to see you all there in September!

FMS now has over 80 members. The company is friendly and welcoming, and we're always seeking new people to join us, be that as a performer or in a support capacity.

We hope to see you at our next show!
